Where our data comes from
- Community prices: shelf prices reported by Wisepadi users. They can be wrong or out of date, so we show when each was seen and let you flag bad reports.
- Product names and details: from Open Food Facts, a free, open database made by volunteers (ODbL licence).
- Staple market prices: reference prices for everyday foods from the World Food Programme (WFP) Nigeria food price data on the Humanitarian Data Exchange (CC BY-IGO). They currently cover only Borno and Yobe markets and are labelled with their last-updated month. They are not store prices.
- Test data: some US-sourced products and prices are shown only as labelled test data while we build Nigerian coverage. They are not Nigerian shelf prices.
Where we have no evidence for a price we say so instead of guessing. Retailers and data providers: partner with us.
